WOOD DICKINSON PRODUCES AWARD-WINNING FILM
--Film earns three awards and is screened at an International Film Festival --
(Mission, Kan.)…Kansas City filmmaker Wood Dickinson’s latest film, Drifter – Henry Lee Lucas, was an official selection at the Beverly Hills Film Festival earlier this month. The film took home three awards: Best Actor for Antonio Sabato, Jr. who played Henry Lee Lucas, Best Actress for Caia Coley who played Viola Henry's mother and Best Director for Michael Feifer. The film is about Henry Lee Lucas, America’s most prolific and vicious serial killer.
Dickinson was a writer/producer on the film, along with producer Barry Barnholz and writer Christopher Ryan. Feifer also co-wrote the film. Sabato, Jr. is mostly known for his television roles including stints on General Hospital and Melrose Place. Coley has had 25 acting roles, and her credits also include directing, producing, and writing. Feifer has produced and directed dozens of films.
The 9th Annual International Beverly Hills Film Festival presented the awards at a Gala ceremony earlier this month. The event, held at the Beverly Hills Hotel, was attended by celebrities including Sabato Jr., Jane Seymour and Elisa Donovan, as well as industry VIPs and independent filmmakers.
Drifter will be out later this year on a direct-to-video release through Lionsgate. The plan is for an international release to happen prior to a domestic release. Dickinson’s previous serial killer film, Raising Jeffrey Dahmer, was distributed direct-to-video by Lionsgate in the summer of 2008.
Dickinson’s next film is Breaking Point, a thriller starring Brittany Murphy. Shooting will start in May, and the film will premier on a major cable channel. To learn more about Renegade Pictures, please call 913-722-4678 or visit www.renegadepictures.us.
